Survey: 51% of industrial companies anticipate revenue increases this year

September 17, 2010...

About half (51%) of industrial companies expect their revenue to increase this year compared with just 24% who said so last year, according to a survey released Thursday by e-media company GlobalSpec. The ninth annual "Industrial Indicator Survey," was conducted online this summer and drew 512 respondents.

Eighteen percent of respondents said their company increased headcount this year compared with just 5% that did so last year. Nonetheless, 64% of respondents said their company cut spending this year, although that was an improvement over last year, when 73% reported that they cut costs.
